Community Foundation of Howard County Founded in 1969 by the legendary James Rouse as the then Columbia Foundation, the Community Foundation of Howard County is a nonprofit public charity with the goal of improving the quality of life in Howard County, primarily through endowment building and coordinated grant-making services. #CFHoCo is committed to building a vibrant, compassionate and engaged Howard County community. | In March 2020 the Community Foundation of Howard County, Horizon Foundation, United Way of Central Maryland and Women's Giving Circle of Howard County announced new emergency funds and actions to support community members affected by COVID-19, and established #HoCoRespond to support Howard County nonprofits on the frontline of support, focusing on assisting with food security, housing, childcare and healthcare. Over $400,000 has been raised to date and HoCoRespond has given a total of $407,500 in #COVID19 Emergency Funds to Howard County nonprofits. | #TheHorizonFoundation is Howard County’s community health foundation, committed to improving health through innovative initiatives, collaborative partnerships, strategic grantmaking and thoughtful advocacy.
