Philanos’ mission is to support and strengthen women's collective giving organizations through education and collaboration designed to promote women's philanthropy and informed, impactful grant making in communities.
Philanos works to accelerate women’s philanthropic giving by providing our affiliates the resources they need to impact their communities.
Philanos serves to catalyze the women’s collective giving movement by connecting women's giving circles and providing support, resources, conferences, peer-to-peer sharing and educational programming.
Philanos believes that organizations that prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) create environments that respect and value individual differences. Inclusive organizations foster cultures that minimize bias and make decisions better able to address systemic inequities. We are committed to equity, diversity, collaboration, inclusiveness, transparency, and accountability.
Philanos is the leading women's giving circle network, with more than 90 affiliates in 29 states, the District of Columbia, England, and Australia.
Although Philanos affiliates vary by membership and governing models, they all share one guiding mission: to become informed donors, to practice intentional grantmaking, and to make a lasting impact in their local communities.
Philanos provides ongoing opportunities to network with affiliate members through meetings, private issue-focused groups and our PowerUp! Conference.
Philanos affiliates have access to a wide variety of resources in our private Affiliate Forum about giving circles, collective giving, grantmaking and a variety of issue areas.
Philanos provides ongoing opportunities to learn from and share with other affiliates, including monthly webinars, and the bi-monthly affinity groups including Comms Club, Tech Talk and Membership Roundtable.
