Nourish Now

seeks to end hunger through food recovery and redistribution, thus solving two major social problems simultaneously: food waste and hunger. Nourish Now collects donations from caterers, corporate cafeterias, grocers, wholesalers, and other partners throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area and distributes prepared meals, produce, and nonperishable food to individuals, families, and community organizations in Montgomery County, MD. Nourish Now was Many Hands’ 2020 Impact Grantee.

Access Youth

provides DC public school students access to the skills, resources, and support they need to stay in school and out of the juvenile justice system. In addition to improving student attendance, behavior, and academic outcomes, their work empowers students to learn and use restorative justice and peer mediation techniques so that they can become student leaders and mediators who can advocate for themselves, their schools, and their communities. Access Youth was Many Hands’ 2019 Impact Grantee.

    Friends of Guest House

helps women successfully reenter the community from incarceration through a gender-responsive and trauma-informed approach focusing on five pillars of livability: healthcare, employment, education, housing, and reconnection. Based in Northern Virginia, since 1974, Guest House has helped more than 4,000 women break the vicious cycle of incarceration, reunite with their families, and reintegrate into their communities. Friends of Guest House was Many Hands’ 2018 Impact Grantee.
