Grantmaking for Environmental Resilience
Tuesday, April 8, 2025 12 PM ET

Responding to the changing climate situation in each of our communities presents a challenge for giving circles across the country. Whether it’s funding for proactive environmental projects or support for immediate relief related to unexpected and destructive climate events like hurricanes or wildfires, giving collectives are increasingly being called upon to make climate issues one of their funding priorities. In observance of Earth Month, join us to learn how two giving circles have adapted their grant making to align with particular environmental concerns. Carrie Coward, Women for Women (Asheville, NC) will detail their response to the destruction brought about by Hurricane Helene. Michelle Hynes, ninety-nine girlfriends (Portland, OR), will describe the types of recent grants in their Environmental Equity and Sustainability focus area. Spread the word, join us, and bring your questions!
