Personal Philanthropy Planning - Featuring Nina Needleman, Business and Financial Consultant, and member of Philanos Affiliate, Spirit of St. Louis Women's Fund.

Being a philanthropist can take many forms. As a member of a Philanos Affiliate you already invest in your community through your philanthropic leadership - engaging in collective giving with an annual renewal and intentional giving. There are other ways to make charitable donations that may not be as obvious. With some reflection and advanced planning, you can craft a personal philanthropic strategy to give now, over time and/or into the future. 

This session will introduce the concept of a Personal Philanthropy Strategic Plan.  It will outline types of strategies for short term, intermediate term and long term philanthropy planning.  It will briefly highlight different types of charitable vehicles and accounts (such as Donor Advised Funds), and will provide some questions to help you think through your personal/family giving priorities.

Nina Needleman, a seasoned financial services professional and member of Philanos Affiliate, Spirit of St. Louis Women's Fund, specializes in helping couples and families eliminate the tension relating to financial decisions.  Her 29 years of experience in the industry was spent helping clients minimize risk and address financial dilemmas.  Nina's passion is helping people be good consumers of financial services. 

 Since retiring from the business in 2011, Nina has been using her business and financial skills to help nonprofits with Capacity Building and to teach financial literacy and philanthropy.
